• Historical Events: On May 7, 1915, the British ocean liner RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat, a pivotal event that influenced public opinion during World War I.

• Mother's Day: In the United States, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, honoring mothers and maternal figures for their contributions to family and society.
